sudden severe headache in back of head...help?
i haven't found anything describing what i had s I'll ask here.
a few days ago I had a mild tension start in my neck, not even annoying. w/in 5 miinutes it had gone to the back of my head around the bottom of my skull. I vomited then just curled up holding the back of my head for a while. the pain was sudden and immense pressure. it covered the entire back half of my head. pains eased considerablyafter about 30 minutes, but i've been lighthead and feel pressure in my head since. i'll go for CT scan tomorrow, but does anybody have any ideas i can research. all i've figured out is that it was not a migraine. i porobably should of gone to a doc immediatly but i was on vacation at the time. everything i've read mentions throbbing and pain near temples and on 1 side, so i'm stumped.
I'm asking more if anyone has ideas I can research till I get my test results or if anyone has had the same experience.
I went to the doc. he gave me a scipt for a CT scanand said it was okay to go tomorrow morning so does that suggest it's not an aneurysm? I mean, wouldnt he say go now if he thought it was? I have no idea what the procedure or protocall is for that possible suspected diagnosis. anyone know?

1. One would normally seek the advice of a doctor, rather than consulting an internet forum. Our medical knowledge is quite limited.
2. ? a leak from an aneurysm.
3. GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!!! You could have a rupture in your head and could die if you dont get help NOW!. I have a friend who had this and that was what was wrong with her. This is not a joke even if the pain eases up it still could be life threating.
4. If you are that worried, go to the ER.
There is no sense in upsetting yourself with panic (upsetting you more and more when you dont need it)...
I have to agree with your instinct, if something was concerning your doctor he wouldve said "go now".
But if you have a gut feeling, or concern just get it checked out..
I too have been experiencing a bad head ache (possibly migraine) but I know worrying and stressing over it would make it worse.
Stress, depression, lack of sleep, many things could be the cause... it doesnt mean its a bleed or horrible problem. Relax and follow your gut!
I would however, start a very detailed list of your history with this, when it started, recent changes, possible causes, all new thing youve been experiencing (lack of sleep, eating changes, missed period, stomach bug, new stress, whatever!) so you can be very thorough with the doc!
Good luck!
5. There seems blockage of UB/GB Meridian at neck.
pl see what suits you.
If you are in cold country use all warm things.
Pl try cold water bath and observe if in hot country, if pain increases use warm.
If you have cough/cold body hot water bath will help.
Massage and exercise in front of morning sun is good thing, pl try.
Pl try simple acupressure given below for immediate relief.
If it fails you will have to go for Acupuncture.
There is hardly any medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for RA, OA, Back ache, Ear ache/ringing, Stomach ache and almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, sadness, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation; drug side effects, stress, bad smell, TV & COMPUTER SOMETIMES, Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy, BODY CONSTITUTION etc are their causes.
None of them can be treated with medicine.
Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment.
I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Pain killers don't treat the pain but we loose the sense of pain for some time; in that duration our body itself treats sometime and credit goes to meds.
The useless drugs have tremendous power of side effects like liver/kidney failures, ulcer, inflammation of intestines and lot more.
Avoid late sleeping if possible; worry, tension, spicy foods, sour fruits, stale bakery foods, SMOKING and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits like dates, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help if cough is not there.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it is very strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point (with round tipped pen/jimmy) 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.
For forehead/eye pain the points are in front of nails on the finger tips or 3-7 mm below.
It may disappear naturally too.
