What is the best pain killer for a headache caused by tight neck and shoulder muscles?

I have a really bad headache, and since it's sunday I can't go see the chiropractor to fix it, so what is the best alternative, it's really bad and I can't take a nap because I work in an hour. Are their painkillers that are specific to loosening tight muscles?

1. tylenol is the best pain reliever
don't take ibuprofen it has extreme side effects

2. When I have the same kind of pain, I take an ibuprofen and get in a hot shower. The hot water helps relax my neck and shoulder. Ibuprofen works well for myself and I've never experienced anything negative from taking it. =]

3. Massage, get a nice relaxing massage.

4. What you are describing is anxiety/tension and the pain will be at the back of your skull worse lower down and at the top and not too bad halfway up the back of the skull.

First take a long hot shower or bath and soak up the heat into the affected areas. If you have a partner ask for a neck and shoulder massage. Try to get into a comfortable position and get some rest, if possible sleep. Relax, clear your mind, identify the cause of your anxiety or stresses and deal with them. Fresh air and a casual relaxed walk won't hurt either.

Hope that helps

5. Relax !
It takes practice.
