Is a migraine likely to last three weeks with continued nausea?

If this is not a migraine (it has all the symtoms) and a MRI and spinal tap have been done and show nothing. What else should be checked. This person has seen neurologists and ia very very sick. Is there any sugestions as to what to check next.

1. get your brain scaned

2. Well if they've had a headache since the spinal tap it could be from that. If it happened before that is the person on any contraceptives? They can sometimes cause these symptoms until the pill is stopped.

3. It is definitely not common for a migraine to last so long. But that said it has been known to happen. This person should be under the care of a neurologist first of all. They will know better than I do (nursing student) but if it is a migraine there are medications such as neurontin or gabapentin- an antiseizure med. that will stop the migraine or should prevent future ones. If they can't find anything through CT or MRI then they will probably chalk it up to migraines, especially if the person has a history of migraines, family members have had migraines or if it is a girl entering puberty as that's the most common age to develop migraines. Good luck and hope I gave you a few ideas! =)
