Chronic Knee Pain, "Popping"/Tendinitis?

I am a 30y/o Male, ex-military/football player with chronic knee pain. Never injured them, but over the past few years have noticed increased "popping" sensation in both knees if I am standing still, then walking either R or L; and while going up and down stairs. Right knee, lateral, pain if I push just below the top of my Fibia that creates a "numb" feeling going down my R leg. Pain is increasingly getting worse and more frequent, I get pain now even when I don't exercise or engage in athletics. MRI was Neg. Dr. recommended Osteo Biflex and RICE but it doesn't help and I don't want to have to take Motrin every time I want to walk without pain and discomfort. Is there anything else I can do? Many thanks in advance for your help and time.

1. Pick up SAM-e at you local health food store.
GNC triflex with SAM-e is a great product.

2. You can take these pills and some other joint over the counter pills. My husband has been taking them for his hip and he is much improved.
