I have been getting a sharp headache on the right side of head, in the back near my ear, any one know why?
I don't normally fall victim to headaches but the pain has been sharp and occuring on and off, present for only a few moments, since yesterday.

1. It's hard to say. It could be due to a tightening in the ligaments in your neck and shoulders. Are they sore? And have you been having less the perfect posture? Often times, using a heat pack, or sitting in a warm bath will help. Also, doing stretches may help to ease the pain.
2. is your ear clogged? have you gone swiming?
3. Your description looks like a tension headache. The cause of this type of headache isn't known. Massage, and applying gentle, warm heat to the neck/back of head sometimes helps. More info at the link:
4. I came across with the site and I think it is indeed very useful. They gave tips and information about headache.
5. I get all kinds of headaches and that sounds like a tension headache. It can actually turn into pain that runs all down the back and legs. Lots of massaging the back of the neck, shoulders and upper back.
If your ear is bothering you, you are dizzy, nauseated, feeling pressure in your ear or having trouble hearing, you could have an ear infection or pressure in your inner ear from another problem. Ear pain can be very debilitating. If this is the case, you could try taking decongestants.
good luck.
