How long can a headache with the flu last?

I had a fever on Wednesday and within a day, the body aches and fever went away. But the dry hacking cough, and this headache will not go away! I've had an extremely painful headache for 3 days now. Is this normal with flu? Advice? Sleep is not helping that much.

1. Can be. Flu can take a week or two to go away. Sometimes the tiredness takes a month even to eventually subside. I would check with the doctor though, just in case you have developed a sinus infection as well. However, coughing and sneezing constantly can cause headaches.

2. When I had the flu I had a terrible headache for a few days, it gradually got better. My mother was sick with it for almost 2 weeks and she had the headache the entire time. It really varies. Don't take too much over the counter pain killers, because doing so can actually cause rebound headaches.
