1. it sounds like a pinched nerve in your back possibly...then again could be a muscle issue. You most likely need to get in to see someone. I had been struggling with same sort of pain; extreme pain in the upper and lower back and a numbness and shots of pain down my legs...I finally broke down and went to a chiropractor and it is starting to get better. Good luck and feel better:)
2. I don't know what the issue might be, but I can try to give you some possible exercises that you could do. I just got over having a bad back for 11 months (i finally got it fixed in May). Mine was cause by a roller coaster at a theme park. Anyway, try these exercises and see if they help.
- lay flat on your back and gently lift up and hold it for about 10 seconds and repeat 3-5 times.
- lay flat on your back and lift each leg up and keep it there for about 10 -15 seconds. repeat 3 times.
I hope this will help you. If not, you might want to go to a chiropractor - I went and he popped my back. You are talking about 9 months worth of popping when I went - more noise than the 4th of July! GOOD LUCK!!
