1. i get back pain swimming helped me alot and also doing crunches to strengthen my abs.i would see your before starting exercise, you could make yourself worse
2. I also suffer from back pain but have learned to lessen it over the years. Your back is supported by many muscles, and it is important to have all of these strong.
Your core- Connects to and supports your back. A person can be lean but still have a weak core. Basic ab crunches in sets of 15 work well if you do them slow and concentrated. The best ab exercises are bicycle crunches and the captains chair.
Your hamstrings- Often times a sore lower back can be related to tight hamstrings. The top exercise for strengthening these would be lunges. Squats are good too, but be careful to have good form or you could hurt your back.
Your lower back- Doing lower rows as well as back extensions really helped strengthen mine. Start with low weight and week by week increase the weight.
Be sure to properly warm up with cardio to get the blood flowing in your back to reduce the risk of injury!
