terrible lower right hand side back pain?

5 days over due, ive had constant lower back pain for ages which doesn't really bother me but for the past month ive had unbelievable sharp pain in my lower right hand side every time i put pressure on my right leg to the extent now i cant even walk, the midwife says this is apparently normal something to do with the baby laying on the nerves as it goes lower down. The groin pain and lower back pain i surmised was normal but this i don't think is. Its like a trapped nerve. has anybody else had something like this or any ideas to help or advise?????? thanks in advance

1. trying posing on your hands and knees for a while. do mild cat stretches like in yoga. it sounds like a pinched nerve. it will go away after the baby, although i did have flareups from time to time after my 2nd child. if it continues after you have the baby i would recommend seeing a chiropractor - they can do amazing things to make your body feel better than you remember it feeling before! anyway, being on your hands and knees uses gravity to relieve the pressure of the baby sinking down into your hips for a while. it's a nice relaxing stretch for your back muscles too.

2. I don't know considering how far along you are, it could very well be the baby's position. Did they check you for a UTI or kidney infection? That can usually cause extreme pain in your right side. Good luck, hope you feel better!
