Pain in lower right side of my back?
Since yesterday I've been getting sharp shooting pains in the lower right side of my back. I'm thinking it might be my kidney? but I was talking to people about it and they said it might just be a muscle hurting. I get a lot of back aches, but they never feel like this. I've also had kidney stones, and this pain isn't nearly as bad (it still hurts a lot, though) Everything else seems normal. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow I'll set up an appointment. I just wanna know what could be wrong for now.

1. If you didn't do anything strenuous go to the doctor. Kidney stones can be caused by drinking too much soy milk. So if you drinking that cut back or stop drinking it.
You can try some light yoga exercises for your back. Just look some up with Google and you should get many results.
You can try drinking ocean spray cranberry juice to clense your kidneys and lots of fresh spring water.
2. My first thought was that maybe you got one of those air.. pockets? in your back. But highly doubt it was that. I wouldn't know what else it could be. It might just be a strained muscle. Were you picking up heavy things yesterday? Or any time during the week? Maybe you slept in a wrong position. But sharp pains.. I don't know. Sorry. :/ If you end up setting the appointment with the doctor, hopefully he won't have any bad news for you.
3. Only three things that I can think of are kidney, muscle spasm or appendix. I've heard that appendix can start hurting in back, then the pain moves to the front. Keep that appointment in any case.
4. It could certainly be a kidney stone, I pass roughly 10 a year and for the last 8 years and I usually feel the same pain.
This stone could be smaller than the other ones you have passed which could be making the pain a less severe. You could also have a Urinary Tract Infection that has moved up into your kidneys, you should see a doctor immediately so you can be treated with either pain meds or antibiotics
