How do I get rid of a tension headache?

I've had migraines since I was 6 and since i've been taking Topamax they have been controlled. Now I have problems with tension headaches. I've tried all the over-the-counter stuff and my neurologist has given me a couple a meds to try but nothing is working. Sleep is the answer everyone is giving me but that seems to make it worse. I've had a masive one for about three days now. AARG! HELP!

1. I've had migraines since i was 13 and i'm now 20. The best medicine i've found is imitrex injections. Also what i will do is put ice on my head and heat on my feet, my mom recommended it to me. For some reason it balances out my body and gets rid of my headache.

2. Have you had a CT scan of your brain? Im sure you have since your a long term sufferer but if not, have one done, there may be another underlying problem causing your pain. How old are you? Are your wisdom teeth coming through?
Tension headaches are what there said to be. There caused by tension. You can getthem from stress, if your back is out, poor posture, a stiff neck, not enough sleep and even dehydration. I get mine from all of these reasons.
Your not having a tension headache, your having a migraine, they are the ones that last for days on end.

Ive never takin any prescribed mediations for my headaches only over counter stuff. The best one for me so far has been panadol rapid. I cant take nurofen due to it causing me stomach problems and iv had blood in my urine from ibprofen use.

If you have alot of body tension and find yourself stressed youc ould ask your doctor for Valium. Nota high dose so your knocked off your feet, just 5mg and you could even break it in half. It is a muscle relaxant. Ive been prescribed it but im trying to deal with y tension in other ways first. My mum has takin Valium many years ago and she would not have been able to get through her day without it, it helped her alot and becasue she only broke it in half and only took it when she realy needed it, she didnt come dependant on it.

3. Take B complex vitamins. ANd regulate sleep, not too much and not too little. ANd learn to relax, meditate. Pray to God.

4. Your headaches are caused by a spiritual presence - a ghost.

The saints depicted in artwork typically have halos on or above their heads. Those halos are the so-called Holy Spirits found in the scriptures. When an individual has such an entity, they often have a weighty, thick-headed feeling, which is effectively what you are describing.

Once you recognize the cause, it will probably lighten up a bit. When you next experience your tension headache, try passing an open hand above your head. You will most likely feel a tingling sensation, which will be the spirit, and confirmation of what is indicated above. Then you should introduce yourself. Think "hello, how are you..." You will hear its responses in your mind, as if you thought them. It cannot hear vocalized words, as a spirit has no ears, but it can read your mind (telepathy).

This situation is a blessing for you.
