1. If you have it your muscles feel like they are on fire! They do radiate from the points they test for mostly, but its not the only locations. Some times i have pain at the points, sometime not at the points, but radiating away from them. If your doctor is worth anything he tested all of the points more than 20. If he just tested one or two I would find a new one asap. Cymbalta is the anti drug! No one i know has ever had relief from it and in the long run it generally causes more problems than it helps. Muscle relaxers sometimes help etc. but I would stick with physical therapy and hope to heaven that its not fm.

2. I have heard from people who have been on all kinds of treatments that don't work including cymbalta. there is a drug called Lyrica that they describe as a god send for this disease. maybe ask your dr. about it.

3. i used to feel like thatwlaking up stairs when i was anemic (iron)--be sure yo are tested for this

this can be caused by your spianl problemwhich needs a proper diagnosis

there are 18 tenderpoints in fms--not more than 20--and tehpain isn;t necessarily a burning feeling--it cna be any type of pain

4. I often describe my leg pain by saying that I feel like I have just run for several miles. I also get a lot of pain and stiffness in my back, shoulders, and neck, but I do not have the typical fibromyalgia tender points.

Your problem might be more along the lines of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), which I have been diagnosed as having. It is very similar to fibromyalgia, with one of the differences being tender points are not part of the symptoms. Treatments are often the same as for fibro. I have tried Cymbalta, but it just gave me headaches and didn't seem to help.
