Is anyone using the Fentynal Patch for Fibromyalgia?
My doctor started me on it then took me off saying that the natural way of a proper diet and Vicoprofen were all that was needed. I take provigil to stay awake during the day and they want me to take Amitriptilene to go to sleep. I don't like taking alot of different meds. What meds work and what doesn't. HELP!!!!!

1. I think that Fentanyl is too much for anything except cancer pain, but then I'm not in chronic pain, either. What I don't understand is why are they giving you Provigil? The narcotics are knocking you out so much that you can't stay awake? I can see taking the Amitriptilene--just a small dose at night--but not the Provigil. Unless you have narcolepsy, too? You need to get a second opinion...from a pain management doctor.
2. You need to find a new doctor, or find a specialist. I have Fibromyalgia and understand your pain and frustration. I have spent the past 10yrs. dealing with the chronic pain and sleeplessness. There are currently two very good medications being used for Fibromyalgia. 1) Lyrica. 2)Cymbalta. Ask your physician and do some research on the Internet. I take Lyrica and it has changed my life.
