Does anyone have any info on how to treat fibromyalgia? I have tryed every treatment for the past 5 years.?

I am desperate to find new solutions to control the symptoms. Is there a good support group I can join on the net?

1. i've got fm too, i am on two anti-depressants, one to help my moods, the other to chill and relax me at night. they help a bit. maybe ask your dr if you can go to a pain clinic?

2. FM is a musculoskeletal pain and fatigue disorder for which the cause is still unknown. it means pain in the fibrous tissues in the body.

This magazine will give you all the details of the problem and the sort of support you can expect.

3. I don't know much about support groups, but I ran across this article recently:
http://www.celiac.com/articles/118/1/Elimination-Diet-May-Ease-Fibromyalgia/Page1.html

It talks about food intolerances causing some of the symptoms. I have celiac disease and I was diagnosed with a bunch of other conditions before finding out that food was causing my problems. I thought I had PCOS, reactive airway disease, anxiety, acne, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome and then when I eliminated gluten from my diet the headaches, pcos, anxiety, and CFS went away. When I took out dairy the reactive airway disease and acne went away. It was really a miracle and it came in such an unexpected form! Anyway, make sure you explore whether foods are a trigger for you. And don't make the mistake of thinking that if foods were the cause you would notice symptoms right after you eat. The foods you eat all the time can cause delayed long term reactions just as easily as immediate reactions, so you wouldn't necessarily notice it right away. Let me know if you have any other questions!

4. fms is a NEUORLOGICAL DISORDER taht causes pain in the soft tissues among many otehr symtpoms

you need to find a wayto regulate the neuro system

my symptoms wer ereversed after i had a seizure-

and tahn again after surgery--i suspect it was teh anastetic that allowed by brainto actually work right for a couple hours

the symptoms came back though

5. There is a drug that is currently being tested at Stanford University that has been showing great progress in helping many people with fibromyalgia. It is called Low Dose Naltrexone or LDN. There is also a yahoo group for people taking this drug called LDNforFibro. I have fibro and it has really been helping me. I highly recommend checking into it.
