How can I alleviate upper back pain that runs across my shoulders and up into my neck?

I am sure it is tension related, and it's been going on for days. I have tons of homework to complete before Monday - I don't really have a comfortable place to sit and I don't like sitting in my bed to do homework.

Is it possible to alleviate the shoulder/back pain I'm having - even if it's only for a couple of hours it would be so wonderful. I have some naproxen, but that stuff doesn't really do much for me.

Thanks for your help.

1. As you mentioned, the tension is probably a result of your sitting posture...I have the same problem at work when I hover over a computer

Check out my blog, I gives suggestions on how to deal with temporary back pain, recomendations of lifestyle changes to help prevent back pain from occurring in the future.
