mystery diagnosis.. sever knee pain?
All my life i have had intense knee pains. It feels like a sharp gushing pain that comes out from under my knee caps and shoots up my thigh bones. It can be one knee, sometimes both. Sometimes one and than the other right after. Its never predicted, never on a schedule and nothing really triggers it. Many basic doctors have looked into it but no real answers, always kind of this, a little that or maybe this. But nothing set and nothing helps. And its VERY VERY painful. Crippling painful. My earliest memory is in kindergarten and im now 19. I have a two year old daughter who i believe is having them as well, or beginning too. She takes my hand and places it on her knee and says "mommy, hurt, mommy knee hurt. knee hurt." I don't know what to do. I don't want her to go her life with this, i know how painful it is. And growing up you cant play sports cause you never know when they will come. Its so painful you wish they would just go ahead and take your leg off. It hurts so bad. I'm scared she has it. I don't know how to help. Growing up i tried everything, warm baths, pain meds, rubbing, resting, elevating them, vitamins, nothing helps. I don't want her to go threw that. Help me figure out what is going on, and what do i do about it? please help us. I'm afraid for my daughter. Any tips, or suggestions or possibilities will be accepted. Please help us.

1. Juvenile arthritis?
Torn meniscus?
Tendonitis?
I took an mri for my knee pain really helped out so now im getting an orthoscopic knee examination.
MRI it if you can.
2. The good news is that it isn't all that serious, the bad news is that the medical field hasn't a clue. Sad. But let me help you.
While sitting place that leg out half extended in front of you. Take both thumbs and place them about one third the way back and press down in the middle of the top of your leg and also towards your knee, kind of scrunching things together, and hold it tight. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don't tense up any part of your body. After 45 seconds, slowly slide that foot backwards until it's fully under your chair as far as it will go. Then release the pressure but hold your leg there for one minute. Do the other knee.
I just got done doing this for a neighbor lady who had knee surgery. She has been having trouble bending it and p.t. hasn't been that much help to her. What I did made a big difference for her.
I hope your daughter isn't talking about her own knees, that she may be talking about yours knowing you do have pain. Once yours is gone and you aren't talking about it anymore you will find out. Any questions get in touch. Also, you can do these over again and again if you want to or need to, nothing to hurt.
3. This won't help much, but from your description, it doesn't look like the docs have actually tried to solve this problem. It might be very easy to diagnose the problem if you went to an orthopedic doc and got a MRI or x-ray and examination.
