KNEE PAIN. please help asap!?

okay. my knee started hurting 4 years ago. eventually it got to the point where my knee would "pop" or crack, and it'd give out...it was so painful. i've been to every doctor imaginably. rhumatologist, arthritic doctor, and ive had blood tests, mri and xrays. with no other diagnosis, my doctor decided i have patella femoral syndrome. ice and a knee brace along with exercises what they prescribed. my knee pain has come and gone over the last four years usually the pain easing up after about 4 months. but when i have the pain its SO bad. its sharp and i can barely walk. and like i mentioned before, it pops out and makes me fall over.

if any one has ANY ideas please let me know
thanks so much.

1. Unfortunately it sounds like patellofemoral pain syndrome. I went through the tests, too. Ultrasound, x rays, MRI, the works. When there's no physical irregularity, it basically comes down to PFPS. Your knee isn't lining up in the femur joint properly and it's causing rubbing. PFPS is sadly a chronic condition. I went to physio for a bit and it improved a lot but as soon as I stopped going, the pain came back. Remember to do your exercises regularly, as the exercises prescribed aren't for loosening as they might be if you hurt your back, but for strengthening. When you're in pain, keep up with the ice and rest rule, and try a gel with glucosamine. I found an awesome one in the UK called Pernaton that helps my knee stop hurting and feel looser/less inflamed.
