Fibromyalgia...Lyrica?

I was taking Lyrica for Fibromyalgia...moreover, nerve pain. Has anyone had any strange side effects from this drug? My doctor discontinued my use of this drug because my symptoms were worse, namely, I was having more muscle spasms.

1. i had it, it never helped my nerve pain, I do not have fibro , but nerve damage in the central nervous system, only side effect was weight gain and the feeling of being stoned. Try maybe valium or xanax for spasms, as for nerve pain I think some kind of opiod could help but doctors are reluctant to perscribe it.

2. Fibromyalgia and nerve pain are very hard to treat. Lyrica is only one drug that your doctor can try, but there are many others. I've had Fibromyalgia for over 12 years and I have tried almost everything. About 9 months ago I heard that Stanford University was doing a trial with fibromyalgia patients and a drug called low dose naltrexone. I checked into it, took the information to my doctor and he prescribed it for me. I have been doing really well and my pain levels have gone from 6-7 to 2-4. Stanford recently released their preliminary results that said 7 out of 10 fibromyalgia patients received marked improvement in their symptoms. I will put the url for this below so you can check it out yourself.

3. Thank you for your questions...I am also taking Lyrica and I have been having severe muscle spasms. Never linked it to the Lyrica, but now I will ask my doctor!
