what are some home remedies for a headache?

i have a headache and Tylenol just wont do it for me

Public Comments

1. ibuprofen works much better for me....tylenol does almost nothing for me

2. Hot bath, relaxation, stretching the neck, pinch your pressure point on your hand-between thumb and pointer finger. Pinch for about 45 seconds on each hand. If those don't help, try Ibuprophin or something other than Tylenol.

3. Hello, I'm a doctor. Use butalbital. I think that you want to get more info about it. Please go to ----> http://treatments.notlong.com/?q=butalbital&qid=20090606215226AAdcHjQ

4. Apply an ice pack to the painful area of your head. Try placing it on your forehead, temples, or the back of your neck.
Take a warm bath or shower; take a nap; or take a walk.
Ask someone to rub your neck and back, or treat yourself to a massage.
Apply gentle, steady rotating pressure to the painful area of your head with your index finger and/or thumb. Maintain pressure for 7-15 seconds, then release. Repeat as needed.
Rest, sit, or lie quietly in a low-lit room. Close your eyes and try to release the tension in your back, neck, and shoulders.
If you have excessive muscle contractions in the neck, physical therapy exercises performed daily are often helpful.

5. Drink a glass of water, and wait about 20 minutes. Headaches are sometimes a sign that the body wants more water.

Take a puff on a joint.

And if you take meds for headache, bc powders work much better for my headaches than tylenol, ibuprofen, or aleve ever has.

6. Drink a glass of water very slowly. Sometimes a headache is a symptom of dehydration. A short nap might also be helpful. Other remedies include a scalp massage, slow and deep breathing, or a 15 minute walk.
