Do you know any home remedies for a headache?

I get headaches at least twice a week. I take Advil all the time. Like last night, I tried to sleep it off. Nope my headace was still there, when I woke up in the middle of the night.

1. That happens to me all the time. I get headaches a lot. I took Advil, aspirin, vicoden, you name it. I finally went to the doctor and he said it was tension headaches and he gave me some drugs. They help some but, honestly, booze helps the most. I'm not talking about getting trashed. But one stiff cocktail usually helps. I think it may be because alcohol thins the blood, relieving pressure? I dunno, but it works.

2. I am addicted to coffee and thankgod never suffered with migraines, but my ex, boy he had them so bad it scared me he'd accidentally kill himself on painkillers.
He has suffered with them all his life and when we were younger he'd have them so bad he'd be in pitch blackness, screaming sometimes, head banging walls and threatened suicide in no escaping the pain. He'd take ten times the recommended doses (over a spell of about 20 days) and I am surprised he didn't kill himself on them, scary.
While being with me he started drinking coffee and he rarely suffers with them now. He still gets but they are so mild compared to what he did have I'd recommend coffee. He drinks it the same as me (black) but much weaker.
I do know coffee blocks certain receptors in the brain but can't remember of the top off my head which one but there could be something in it for migraine sufferers.

Give it a try, what harm can it do I bet you're taking lots of medication and the caffeine could be the one.
If got a migraine try a strong cup of black coffee but I expect to keep them at bay you'd have to drink regularly, keep it in the system ;)

3. there are many types of headaches,if tension headaches-placed a warm pad on the back of your head or you can try taking a shower.CAFFEINE may also help,it constricts the blood vessels

4. For me heat works. Lay your neck on a heating pad. I also used this on my nephew and his headache went away..Curious enough I found this out when my baby was running a fever of 102 and I was "dying" with a headache. She snuggled into my back and put her hot little hands on my neck and within 15 minutes my headache was gone. Try to relax.

5. Headaches twice a week is a signal something's not right. If you use painkillers on a regular basis, they can actually cause headaches. I'd have a thorough physical check-up if I were you, including an allergy test. You may need to change your diet, exercise more, get massage or buy a better bed, etc etc.

Drinking a lot of water (2-3 litres/day) when you have a headache may ease the pain. It's also great for preventing and fighting hangovers LOL

A good way to get rid of headaches caused by muscular tension is stretching the neck muscles. Try it, it won't harm you (BUT go see a doctor, too).

Stand up or sit in a straight-back chair. Press your chin against the top of your chest. Place both your hands on top of your head (= close to the hair crown on top). Close your eyes and just let the weight of your arms work. DON'T press down. Breath calmly. Keep the position for at least 5 but not more than 10 minutes.

6. Head massage..
