Fibromyalgia?

I recently started taking cymbalta for my fibro. I am really nauseated, I was wondering if anyone else has had good results with this medicine?

Public Comments

1. My husband has been taking it for a few years with no problems at all...

2. Medicines may affect people differently even if they are in the same family. Sometimes it is a role of the dice. Is the cymbalta doing anything for your fibromyalgia?

3. If 3-5 days on cymbalta still causes nausea, call your doctor's office about it. READ LABELS! You may need a change of medicine. Good luck! :)

4. It made me sleepy. No problems with nausea. Try taking it with food?
If you take it once a day, try taking it just before bed instead of in the morning. That way it will be through your digestive system when you are awake. Hope this helps

5. It’s not an uncommon situation to be diagnosed with a serious illness and feel the need to learn all you can about it. Of course your doctor and medical team are there for you in terms of instructions and information, but they are often busy with tons of patients and can only give you so much time. With fibromyalgia you want your information and you want it now. The changes are good you will learn about the newest treatment for fibromyalgia and other aspects of care with your own set of resources rather than wait for the doctor to let you know. Most physicians are simply too busy to notify each individual patient of new information. If you want to keep up to date on fibromyalgia health and how to take care of yourself, here are a few resources you should keep in mind.

* Your doctor naturally
* Online resources
* Medical periodicals

6. I take Cymbalta for my Fibro also. I always take it just before bedtime. I've had fairly good results. If you are still feeling bad after trying that for a few days talk to your Dr about switching or lowering the dose. Good luck!

7. I take cymbalta also for FM. My MD wants me to take 60mg twice a day eventually. I'm one that likes to go slow with this sort of thing. I started with 20 mg 1xday and I did have nausea in the beginning. I am currently up to 40 mg 1xday. I started April 1st. It helps some but not enough. I am going to start on 60mg very soon.
