Doctors please need help on pain right side of lower back hurts and front of stomach?

my lower right side hurts really bad i think it might have to do with my kidney. The doctor tested it and said it was a kidney infection and i need to get it x-rayed but i do not have enough time to. This hurt goes on and off could it be something else. Do you have any suggestions on what it could be. It also hurts the front side of my stomach also (right side)
Thanks

1. maybe it is your appendix, when your appendix is swelled it can cause back pain and front abdominal discomfort, go to the doc and tell them something is wrong....for now maybe take a hot bath or get a warm cloth and put over top where it hurts.

2. You already have the answer - it's your right-hand kidney. If it is tender when you press onto the back pain sites, then it is even more sure. (that's where your kidneys are located - in an infection, they become inflamed and swell up, meaning it hurts when you press.)

The pain at the front of your stomach is likely to be "referred pain", which is common with kidney infections. It just means that it's hurting in a different place to where the pain started, and is quite common. It may feel like the pain is radiating or flowing from your back to your front - that's a sure sign of kidney infection.

HOWEVER if the pain at any point *starts* in the front and moves to the back, you should go back and tell your doctor this, since kidney pain rarely if ever starts elsewhere and radiates back to the kidneys. It may suggest appendicitis if the pain originates from close to your belly button and feels like it's moving to your right - but from what you've described it's unlikely to be that.

Re: the x-ray.. are you sure they meant that? X-rays don't show kidneys. They may have meant an ultrasound scan, in which case they think there is a possibility of you having kidney stones, which are detected by the ultrasound. Definately go and get it scanned, because kidney stones are excruciatingly painful when left untreated, but can be broken down into nothing very simply, using ultrasonic waves which pass through your body, only damaging the stones.

Hope that helps, and that you're okay in the end.
