1. i would try getting a knee brace and using insoles in your shoes. they relieve a lot of tension...
2. Is it like a pain on the side of your knee like the outer side of it? because if it it there is a muscle that runs a long the knee cap that from old injuries or just using or doing something new like psyically doing something new will creat sometimes muscles that hurt the short word for the muscle is call I.T. Band and maybe you should check a doctor about it so see what's wrong to that's my advice to you
3. Take cod liver oil,1 tablespoon, 3 X per day. Prepare massage oil containing the following: cooking oil 1/2 cup on low flame. add 1 teaspoon fennel seed, 1 teaspoon thyme. after 2 minutes remove mixture from the stove. When the mixture cools, rub affected area using the ointment for 5 minutes, 2 X per day.
Take mixed fruit/vege juice everyday. avoid fried foods, processed foods like biscuits, cakes.
If it involves joint pain, take chondroitin sulphate, follow instruction on label.
Continue taking cod liver oil.

5. Sounds like sudden walk strained your legs, perhaps causing a liquid-filled sac (called a bursa) under the knee-cap & one behind the knee, to swell & moving the leg causes the knee-cap to increase pressure on that bursa.
Hot soaks, 20 minutes + gentle massage may help. Try Aleve for ten days as label directs & stop the hilly walks. Drink 6 glasses plain water everyday.
6. diagnosis: probably patellar tendonitis.
treatment: time and anti-inflammatories like Motrin or Aleve.
prevention: walk on flats, like track at a local highschool.
workup: none.
7. walking downhill hard on knees. I hike on mountains but take bicycle as high as rules allow try to ride down. National park dont allow bicycle at all so I have to walk down big mountains. Make knees hurt badly. It goes away soon. Try walking uphill only, or on track. Track have rubber surface that good on knees. Don't stop walking. You get Nitrogen, and Lactic Acid build up if you stop, then they hurt when you start again. Just Stop walking downhill until knees feel better. When knees feel better, walk downhill again. They get stronger. Knees have muscles. People used to think joints like motors or like bicycle chains in that they wear down, and can not be built up, but now people realize that not true. People use knees a lot have strong knees. If you knees out of shape, then you use them a lot going down big hills, they are going to be sore. Don't worry though. They are not injured.
Remedy? I put ice on knees. People tell me no. Don't put ice on knees: put heat pad on knees. I put heat pad on knees. Neither one work very much. Just keep going, and they start to feel better. When they hurt real bad, they just saying they need rest. When they don't hurt, they are ready to run.
