Pain clinic and fibromyalgia?

How do they treat Fibromyalgia at a pain clinic if you have already tried Lyrica, Cymbalta, Celebrex, Flexeril, and Tramadol with no releife?

1. I went to a pain clinic where the doctor advertised as a specialist for FMS-he knew nothing-except how to push drugs.

He gave me a variety of narcotics/antidepressants that did nothing-sent me to Physical Therapy and for acupuncture-same thing a rheumy or Primary care would do-

FMS pain is believed to be neurlogical in nature (Central nervous system disorder) for the last 10 years -so a pain doc taht treats musculosketetal disorders may not have a clue what to do.

2. I guess it varies from clinic to clinic. I go to a pain management clinic and I applaud my doc's efforts. He knows that I'd prefer to move on without drugs, therefore he does lower lumbar epidurals, radiopathic severing of 3 nerve facets coming from the spine, ordered in-home PT, braces for my back/spine, ordered in-home nursing and I'm still seeing him. I also had 2 discographies, 2 MRI's, 2 CT's for the diagnostic end. He also tried like there was no tomorrow to get a neurosurgeon to do a spinal fusion (much needed), however I'm not a candidate for surgery and was turned down by all 3.

He's tried a TENS unit, now I'm awaiting spinal cord stimulators to be placed from the thoracic area to the lower lumbar area.

If you can't find another clinic that doesn't just push drugs, you may want to team up with a neurologist that will order any/some of the aforementioned options.

Good luck!
