What are some causes of knee pain?

most of the pain is in my knee but it also runs up towards my thigh. pain is only in one leg. only feel it when i'm walking. i don't think it has to do with my sciatic nerve. feels like something is out of place or something.
haha lalo...i am getting old...

1. You're getting old! OLD!!! :S

2. Well, sciatica is from the back down and it would be on one side of your body. If it's from the knee up then it may be one of the tendons that runs from your hamstring to your knee. Also, if you do have a knee injury then your hamstring has to work harder to stabilize the injured part which can cause pain in that muscle. That's why a lot of times people with knee problems end up with hip and back problems.

If it is severe you should probably see a doctor. Something like a torn meniscus cannot heal on its own and cause permanent damage if left untreated. If it is just annoying I would really recommend stretching, that tendon in your hamstring that runs into your knee can get really tight. A really good stretch is to stand on a stair and let your heels drop down. This stretches everything from your Achilles tendon up to your gluteus.

Good luck and feel better soon!

I hope that helps!

3. a night with rob can lead to knee pain. and other pains aswell.

4. Arthritis, injury, poor diet.

5. sounds sciatic-ish to me
try sleeping, consistantly, w/a pillow between your knees for a week or two to re-align

6. I was having pain in my left knee for about two years. But I finally realized that it was because I was putting all my weight on it whenever I was bending forward. I was leaning on it to take the pressure off my back. It really wasn't helping my back or my knee.
When I finally started using my abs instead, my knee pain suddenly stopped. Just like that.
Don't know if that's the case with you, but I hope it helps anyway.
