Does high heels causes knee pain?

I started wearing high heels almost a year ago and since then I feel like I started having knee pain. I wear heels everyday at work and I have alot of walking to do too. Can this cause it?

1. yes for sure.
heels force your feet into a very unnatural position, putting a lot of strain on them.

after a while, you foot actually becomes slightly 'deformed'. you will notice that there are many elderly women that always wear heels because their feet makes it hard for them to wear flat shoes, if they grew up in heels.

2. Hmm.. quite honestly, that is possible. But usually I get severe pain in my toes after wearing heels. But you should buy those straps, you know they sell them is sport shops for knees. When you're at home wear it, you'll feel much better. But maybe if your knees are a bit weak, then it's possible.

3. Yes it absolutely can look at the angle you are walking in plus one day in a dream I wanted to be a doctor so I am qualified to give you this answer!!

This causes strain on your knees and back

5. Sure they can. And, if you wear them everyday to work for 20 or 30 years, your knees will be shot, you will have bunions on your big toes, probably develop hammer toe, your back will be prone to backaches, hips joints will ache.

When you get old enough to have symptoms of arthritis, it will appear in all those vulnerable spots; feet, toes, knees, hips and back.

Trust me on this. I wore them for 30 years, everyday, to work and for social occasions. I stopped about 10 years ago....too late.....

While the pain is manageable, I regret everyday I spent in those torturous things.....

My daughter, who is 44, stopped wearing them 15 years ago when she saw what was happening to me.

They are awful....no matter how good the shoe, no matter how much you pay..... Every joint in your body from the waist down is effected by the unnatural position these shoes force your skelton structure into.

6. yes...what happens when you wear high heels is that you tend to use your quad muscle (front of thigh) more and the rest of your muscles in your legs less. This in turn causes you to place increased amount of stress on the knee cap and the tissue surrounding the knee cap.
