Has anyone else been diagnosed with fibromyalgia?

I have been recently diagnosed with this very painful condition and am taking three different medications for my pain and nerves. I also do yoga, swim, and some cardio to help strengthen my muscles but it's still hard and the side effects of the Neurontin is scary. I also take Cymbalta and Day Pro. Once a week, I get a B-12 shot because it's low and my doctor thinks it would help restore my body. So, please give me some feedback.

1. You are doing the right things, first and foremost is to take care of your depression. If the Cymbalta doesn't do the trick, switch meds. Therapy may help as well. Make sure you get in the direct sun every day at least 15 minutes, and take fish oil capsules. Also a B50 complex, Ester-C 2,000 mgs. and a good multivitamin daily. These are all depression busters. Depression is directly linked to fibromyalgia. De-stress your life as much as possible, and make any lifestyle changes you can to help get better. Make sure you are eating properly to keep your blood sugar stable. Avoid sugary foods, caffeine and of course any drug use or too much alcohol.

2. A simple test you do yourself will tell you how to best treat your FMS.

Easy, quick and inexpensive.

www.FibroFix.com tells how to do this.

Also the over the counter meds for specific FMS symptoms.

Tricks and tips (no meds needed) for many of the symptoms.

I have extremely severe Fibromyalgia, but don't have to experience the symptoms.

I developed this method, was the first person to use it (since 2000) and host the site. It has kept me free of pain without pain pills, strong, flexible and clever for over 8 years.

Glad to answer questions any time.

3. education is the best treatment--FMS is highly overdiagnosed by incompetant docs who label any pain as fms--even due to normal lifestyle or another condition---at the same tie many docs won't diagnose it at all

be sure you realy have it--otherwise you amy have soemthing more treatable and be suffering needlessly
