If anyone has fibromyalgia maybe you can help me?

I have fibromyalgia and I am suffering more than I ever have, I live in PA and was on the access card but they claim I am no longer able to get their help. So now I have no insurance and can not afford my medication nor Doctor's appointments. So does anyone have any help for me?

1. You might try searching "fibromyalgia natural treatment" and read through the listed sites. There might be an alternative treatment to using prescribed medications. Good Luck!

2. Sounds like you do not live in England. My daughter in England has Fibromyalgia. It is similar but not the same as arthritis and is a lot more painful and has a lot more symptons. How long did it take to get a diagnosis as you have to be tested for quite a long period of time to diagnose this illness. I live in England and the NHS Website was very helpful to me, and they sent me lots of info. on the subject. Medication is also scarce in England for this condition because it is so very expensive. Try the website of the 'nhsdirect'

3. You state that you are not able to afford to either obtain medical help or medicines. It also appears that this condition has not suddenly appeared, and I would assume that you are aware of all I am about to write. Maybe there will be something here that might help. Unfortunately there is no "cure" known, at the moment, for fibromyalgia. You should start a regular physical exercise programme. Regular excercise, and cardiovascular exercise in particular, is one of the best ways to manage this condition. Pool exercise has proved to be helpful for some people. You should start off slowly, so as not to strain the muscles and then cause yourself to stop doing exercises. You should have restful sleep, and if you have sleep problems, you should identify them and try to eliminate them. Relieve pain and stiffness with heat. Radiant heat from a heat source like a fire or that of a hot water bottle. Taking care not to burn youself. Identify 'triggers' that make the condition worse and learn to avoid or manage them. A trigger can be anything that increase the symptoms of your disease. They can be, for example, stressful events, particular activities, lack of sleep and even the weather.
The symptoms of fibromyalgia come and go, so it is impoortant to maintain the exercise regime even when the symptoms have disappeared. Watch for signs of depression or anxiety. These are common with those suffering from the condition. Unfortunately many people with fibromyalgia suffer also with rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. This is another problem that would have to be discussed at another time.
Hope this is helpful

4. I have it too and it is very painful and unpredictible! I am like you and cannot afford all the (meds). I was told to go to the social security office and get a disability form to give to my doctor to feel out .You should be able to get some income in from drawing S.S.because there is no cure for this and it is impossible for some people to hold down a job!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

5. There are lots of things that can be done! So, please, don't panic!
1. The most common reason they cut you off is because of your income.
2. Your disorder is usually a life long discomfort that comes and goes and most insurances (even State run ones) panic and find what ever reason they can to cancel you out.
3.IF you are working you may still qualify for SSI. (Social Security Income) Call them immediately.
4.If your income is too high you may have to consider downing your hours a bit to qualify.
5.There are some medications given to you by your doctor (samples) that will help with your costs.
6.If you are married and your husband or wife works you will still qualify for their insurance if their company supplies it.
7. There are several low income medication programs through the company that makes your med's that you may qualify for.
8. Call your local Catholic Church or Welfare Department. They will give you the names and numbers of clinics that can help you receive you medications at little or no cost.
9. Talk to your Pharmacist they can usually give you the name and numbers of these same assistance programs.
10. There are any number of 'Free Med' programs all over the U.S. that will help even if you don't qualify for a Welfare assisted program.
11. This is the most important one out of all the above answers. Find out why they cut you off your Access Card. They better have a really good reason! Has your income changed? Did you loose your income? Have you moved and forgot to put in a change? This program is put into place for people who otherwise can not afford to pay! Go back and talk to your case worker and be sure that you understand why you no longer qualify. If your medications and Doctor visits, out weigh, the cost of your living this plays a big roll in your qualification status. Don't give up!
Sit down, and believe me when I tell you that this is not a simple task, sit down and write down every single cost you have for an entire month. (Medications, Doctor visits, house payment, car payments, food cost, electric, gas, water, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, cleaning supplies, etc. etc.) Now deduct this from your income. Don't forget the gas for the car and even write down a log of the trips you make weekly to anywhere you have to drive to. I know this is difficult because I had to do the same thing!
I was diagnosed with the same thing about two years ago, sadly, mine was mis-diagnosed because they found out a year later it was MS and not FMS. Ouch! What a pain in the 'You-know-what'!

Good Luck
Blessed Be
