does medical marijauna help with some of the symptoms from fibromyalgia?
i also wanted to add that this question mainly pertains to people who have experienced or know well the extremity of fibromyalgia and/ or anyone who know first hand about marijauna and it's effects in general. so if you do not know what marijauna really does because you have never experimented and/or you do not and could not know the impact fibromyalgia has on millions of people everyday then please do not waste your time answering, as i will not take in what you have to say. Oh, and if you do not believe fibromyalgia exists then go out meet someone who has and has it bad, then i'd like for you to tell me what your opinion is about it after. thank you for the considerate responses i have gotten. it is much appreciated, since the only reason why i brought this up is because of the scare about addictive painkillers that are prescribed daily by the millions for this disease and also kill more people than marijauna ever would!

1. Yeah, but so does cyanide and strychnine, but the side effects are real killers.
Marijuana has long term consequences including central nervous system degradation. It's really not the optimum solution.
I'm no doctor, but I'd recommend going all natural foods, cut out all artificial sweeteners and stay away from processed food.
It's my bet your symptoms will subside.
2. hmmmmmmmmmmm..... I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in my early 20s, am now in my late 40s and have seen a few different docs for it but none have ever suggested that. To me marijuana is still something I would want to stay away from even if they insisted it would help. But that is just my personal belief system. I would rather put up with the pain than take any drug or prescription that messes with my thought process. Lucky for me I have a very high threshold for pain. OH yeah, I found that(by process of elimination) pork really increases the pain. You might want to steer clear of that. Walking helps to keep the muscles moving, from personal expirence it works.
3. Here is the real deal hollyfield. Weed is not a panacea, it's not going to do any thing for you except give you a valid reason to be an addict. No it's not heroin, not crack either. SOme folks think that since it comes from a plant that, that the god made it and god doesnt make mistakes.
4. medical marijuana is usually used in terminal illness(usually) such as cancer when death is immenent. It is prescribed to help people relax which does lower pain levels. I dont believe it would help you very much due to what it is usually given for...I have fibromyaligia since 6 years ago and A person can only use OTC drugs and muscles relaxants as seriously needed. Sometimes doctors prescribe nortriptyline for this to be used daily to prevent pain attacks and even migraines inn some people.
5. Please reread if you have already read my anwer as I added more info and links...it took me quite a while to look up as I had to go upstairs and look in my books etc.
I have sought out these links for you with the best I have learned in my 29 years of study of alternative health/herbs and nutrition.
Please try the incurables program
by Dr. Richard Schulze who had an underground clinic where he worked with very ill and dying patients who had been given no help by allopathetic doctors. His products and program is the best I know.
his website and index where he recommends the incurables program for fibromyalgia
http://www.herbdoc.com/p64.asp
His incurable programs herbal formula (or make your own I do)
http://www.herbdoc.com/p62.asp
His patient handbook with how to do the incurables program.

His 12 hours of tape (I believe there are 2 editions..min had 12 hours of video but the other one may have 10? It was produced through Sam Biser and features Dr. Schulze talking about case histories and demonstrating what and how to do the programs etc...well worth the money. It comes with a 700 page manual but some of the ones on Amazon don't have manual. I haven't checked eBay.

Good Luck!
Also be aware that drugs like Motrin for pain can cause permanent kidney damage..it did this with my mom who is rapidly going downhill with dialysis.
