switching from cymbalta to celexa for fibromyalgia anyone have any experience with this & with celexa 4 fibro?
i asked the pharmacist when I picked it up and he says celexa and cymbalta are in the same family and if one showed results the other should show some too but he could not tell if it would be as good or better as celexa has not been studied for fibro, but i should not have any problem just switching over. The cymbalta works great on my fibro pain so I do not want to mess that up but it does tend to make me anti social. I cannot take Lyrica because I have asthma. The insurance company recommended celexa generic and is giving me 4 months free to try it which will save me 120 right off the top from the cymbalta co pay but I would rather pay the money than miss out on what works. Lately though that 120 sounds good and then add that to the deduction in copay monthly. I took the first one this afternoon and will take it for a few days and report back. I also take flexeril and elavil for pain and sleep. Hope this does not make me sleepy - stay tired enough as it is. Thanks

1. Boy, this question made me sit up. I have fibromyalgia. I used to take Cymbalta. It really helped with the muscle spasms. I have never heard of celexa but I do take Celebrex. Find out if the two are related.
If so, don't leave home without it! I take a combination of Celebrex and Lyrica and with them, sometimes I forget I have fibro, for awhile. Without the combination of the two, I'm like superman wearing a chain of kryptonite.
I've been praying they mix Celebrex with Lyrica so I only have to take one pill. It'd be cool if Celexa were that mixture!
I've heard what they say about Celebrex, but we've read all the warnings on all types of medications...They'll all kill ya if the don't make us better. I would rather not live than have to live without Celebrex, -no quality of life whatsoever- and Lyrica is like gravey on my mashed potatoes! Maybe you can let me know what you find out about this Celexa. I will definately ask my doctor.
Hey, do you get swelling and bloating of your feet and legs all the time, until it's painful? My left leg is swollen like a lamppost all of a sudden for about a month now.
2. i tried lexapro which is a bettter versio of celexa (less side effects)--i seemed to sleep slightly better--it is not related to celebrex
swelling is NOT a part of fms--some reports may include--but that is based on misinformation
