Do people with Lupius tend to also have fibromyalgia symptoms?
Public Comments
1. It is increasingly evident that fibromyalgia is a common accompaniment of lupus.
Lupus patients often have a concurrent fibromyalgia syndrome. Wallace reported a 22% prevalence in 464 lupus patients, Middleton reported a 22% prevalence of fibromyalgia, and Morand reported a 25% prevalence of fibromyalgia in a cohort of 87 lupus patients.
2. Lupus is the symptom of the body attacking itself. Fibromyalgia is very painful. A friend of mine had fibromyalgia and had to seek alternative medicine to get any relief. The doctors in California seem to be more up-to-date on the latest treatment of such diseases. The midwest is somewhat slower in finding solutions. I would consult with doctors on the west coast to find relief. Check the internet under doctors that handle these specific kinds of diseases.
