1. no but i know someone who suffers with that disease
2. Have you also addressed your diet? You need to reduce the amount of purin rich food you eat. Certain foods will increase your risk of attacks. This also includes drinks - beer is not good for you. If you haven't changed your diet, then perhaps you should look into it as it could help improve your health all-round - not just your gout.
3. Vigourous exercise really helps (and drinking loads of water, no alcohol, caffeine.) All well and good if you have the energy. I have really bad arthritis and can barely walk let alone go jogging. Goodluck anyway.
4. Black Cherry juice is supposed to help gout.
5. My Dr. diagnosed gout 10 years ago and i was put on tablets which he said I would have to take for life. At the time I had similar bad bouts like you are going through. I also had varying success with different tablets, so see your Dr. to make sure your on the best ones for your condition. After about 4 years the gout disappeared with help of a change in eating /drinking habits it hasn't come back. See your Dr. again
6. my husband has suffered from it and so has my step father...you need to manage your diet...cut your red meet intake...both have found that eating cherries really helps with the symptoms...fresh or canned..
7. Unfortunately to my knowledge there is no cure from gout, port especially has been linked to gout.
My advice would be to increase uptake of cod liver oil, it is said to be good for the joints, eat a balanced healthy diet. Painkillers can help treat symptoms, but other than that you should really consult your GP
There is some free info on wikipedia.
8. NUMBER 1.
SEE YOUR DOCTOR.
I HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH GOUT-[A FORM OF ARTHRITIS]
I HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED ALLOPURINAL 100Mg *3
COLCHICINE 500Mg *1
SULFASALAZINE 500Mg. *3
you must see your doctor. he will refer you to a specialist.
the end result is worth the trouble.
9. endomethicin relieves the symptoms. but if you can't get that try extra strength motrin. drink a lot of fluids, that will help flush the uric acid out of your system. good luck!
10. I am having a flare up right now. There is no cure for it, try and change your lifestyle, eating a lot if oily fish and no alcohol or caffeine.
