What can I do to help nausea and dizziness from a migraine?
I have been dizzy and nauseous for days, probably due to a migraine, but I can't get any relief except by sleeping in a dark room. Shortly after waking I get dizzy and ill again. Other than migraine specific meds and OTC meds, are there any good solutions or things I should eat/do/etc.?
I have meclizine and promethazine/phenergan, which only helps put me to sleep (I wake up nauseous again). Also, I cannot stand ginger, it makes me feel like vomitting when I am well, so that won't help either. Any new ideas?
I get these headaches a lot, and I have been checked for all sorts of problems, parasites included. I'm technically "healthy" just with lots of refractory migraines.
Also, I've been doing the BRAT diet, which a doctor told me would help the nausea... it doesn't help a lot.

1. have a stool sample check for parasites..
2. eat ginger. put an ice pack at the base of your neck. do what you can to keep your hands warm.
3. You've probably done all the research, but have you tried a Feverfew regimen? Just do an internet search on Feverfew and migraine - there's tons out there. It worked for me but it takes a week or so to kick in. Get a high quality source. Once it's in your system your migraines may be much less intense. My only side effect was, oddly enough, dropping things more, like forks, envelopes, etc...grip issues. Time may take care of your migraines. Genetically, both my parents had them, but they eventually stopped leaving only the visual aura problem, but no headaches. Same with me. So look to your parents for hope.
I never got dizzy from migraines. Are you sure your blood pressure isn't too low?
Good luck!
4. I would look in a totally different direction to get relief.
There is a one-time treatment Atlasprofilax that usually makes the migraine disappear - of course there is no guarantee.
I have experienced the amazing effects myself... :-)
Now, the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. And it's worth to travel a far way to make the experience!
