What could cause a throbbing headache at the back of my head on the left side?

I woke up with this pain yesterday morning, i felt tired and weak and couldn't go to work. I also got a slight fever and had to go back to bed. The pain goes away when i take Lemsip pills but comes back after 6 hours or so. Fever got worse in the evening. I am having flue like symptoms but i dont have sore throat, cough.. Just feeling extremely weak, tired, and having this pain in the back of my head on the left side.
I ve been under lots of stress recently and had late nights and not enough sleep. Also been dehydrated most of the time. Could that be the cause? Or is there a specific condition [illness] that causes the headache at the back - left side? Please help.

1. Headaches are common when you have flu, and this one may well go as the flu improves. Dehydration can also cause a real humdinger of a headache, but both of these tend to cause pain all over the head. One cause of a localised headache is problems in your neck and a chiropractor would be able to tell you if this is the cause. You should also visit your doctor for a check-up as there are other conditions which can cause localised headache. If it doesn't clear up in a day or so, you need to take action. Good luck.
