How do vasoconstrictors relieve a vascular headache?

A vascular headache is a headache where blood vessel swelling or disturbance causes the pain.

Vasoconstrictors are supposed to help, but I'm not sure why or how.

Public Comments

1. They narrow the blood vessels, slowing the blood flow.

2. hello;most of the time when dealing with a headache, doctors will give their people med's that work on the nuerotransmitters of the brain, more or less numbing that area,to relive the pain.yet if caused for swelling, maybe this med is being used to deal with the swelling, and the pain.Later i can check my doctor's dest refersece book,or my P.D.R. and see what either of them say about it.
