Does anyone have Fibromyalgia?

I have Fibromyalgia, and as well as the severe all over pain, and other annoying effects I have noticed a new symptom. (I think) I have no control over my right hand part of the time. I will be holding something just fine, and then drop it without even feeling like I am letting go of the item. ie: I was holding a glass of soda, and the next thing I knew it hit my foot! I was doing my daughter's hair and dropped the curling iron, thank god it didn't hit her, but I am getting really scared. I am afraid the next time it will be something even worse. Does anyone else have a symptom like this or am I going crazy? Also I can't seem to make my doctor understand how bad I hurt all the time. I have to walk a ways to get from my car to class, and my legs hurt sooo bad I have to stop every min. or so and sit down. Everyone looks at me like I'm nuts, any suggestions? Please, I am new to this and yes I have looked at the websites, but I would like some info from people that have actualy dealt with it.. Thanx in advance.....:)

1. MY MOM HAS THIS AND I MUST SAY IT VERY PAINFUL AND UNCOMTORTABLE, SHE SEES HER DR. FOR THIS, AND FOR THE ONES WHO THINKS IT ALL IN YOUR HEAD, THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH, MOM MOM SUFFERS FROM THIS AND ITS SAD TO THINK THAT PEOPLE THINK ITS AL IN HER MIND. IT FEELS LIKE THE WORST PAIN IN THE WORLD, AND THAT YOU HAVE NO CONROL OVER IT, PLEASE SEE YOUR DR. AND HE CAN HELP WITH THIS.. TAKE CARE

2. yes i do and boy do i hurt get down and it is very painfull getting up.i have at times lose feeling in my hands and have to hold onto a buggy when shopping when i get out and yes i have to stop and rest to.so no you are not gooing crazy.

3. motor issues (like your hand) do happen with fms--i am having a very hard time typing and also drop things all teh time

4. i have lupus induced fibro and understand the horrible daily pain quite well, but dropping things is not part of it. you should go see a rheumatologist as this is a symtom of MS. if your doctor is noy listenning to you, then go to another doctor!!!!!!

5. I am one of the lucky people to get this disease too, I also have something called Raynaud's disease which makes mine a little worse than the average person. As far as the dropping things, I do get that a lot my doctor told me it is normal because at times your mind and muscles don't work in tune with each other. I also get bad headaches, a fuzzy memory as I call it and at times I am not even able to put 2 thoughts together. I am only 30 years old and wonder if I am going to have to spend the rest of my life doing this. My legs, feet, arms, neck, fingers, back, you name it and I am walking in pain. Some meds help for a minute but then your body seems to adjust and you need something else. The other thing that I wanted to bring up was that if you dr is not listening to you then you need to look for another one. Simply crack open the yellow pages and when you call to make an appointment ask if they have several patients with Fibromyalgia. You also want to keep in mind that your doctor may be listening but they cant just jump to giving you high doses of pain meds or you are not going to function correctly. You also might want to check into occupational therapy to try to gain some hand strength and last but not least try to rest your muscles completely for at least a half hour every day in a tub or hot tub. The warm water will do wonders for you.

6. There's a site called www.patientslikeme.com where you can sign up. There's patients with the same issue you're dealing with and can help you. Plus there's a big search engine for all your questions.
My suggestion to you is to look into a healthy diet. Alot of your symptoms can subside if you cut out refined sugar (including all soda pop esp. diet soda) and cut out all refined carbs. The site will definitely have some diet food plans for fibromyalgia and how it worked out for other people. Going on a food plan like this isn't easy you would have to eliminate slowly and to see results it would take at least 3-6 monthsso hopefully you get committed to doing this and you will feel so much better. My wife has MS and feels so much better cutting out the refined sugars and carbs from her diet.
God Bless~

7. Hello. I have been suffering from Fibromyalgia for several years, not diagnosed until last year. I have had many extremely bad days. I myself have had days, where I cannot walk or stand for more than a few minutes. I am literally screaming in pain, and have had to use a wheelchair, when I go out anywhere. No you are not crazy. Fibromyalgia does many weird things. I wound up seeing a Rheumatologist, who diagnosed it finally.
