Knee/Upper Shin Pain in 11 Year Old?

Hi,
This 11 year old is having problems with her right knee... two-ish inches below her knee on her shin. She wasn't kicked or anything. It doesn't hurt at all if you touch it or prod it. She can bend her knee and stretch just fine, but when she runs it bothers her. It only hurts when she runs, walks fast, or goes up and down stairs. She's had it for about 3 weeks, and she's had past problems with her feet and Achilles tendon. (Achilies tendon strain, Plantar Fasciitis) She has flat feet and walks more on the front part of her feet... would that have anything to do with it? She does horseback, but only rides once a week for 30 minutes to an hour. She has been running at school, but nothing very strenuous at all. Any diagnosis as to what it might be, or what she can do about it?

-It ISN'T growing pains.

Thanks!

1. Go check a doctor.

2. Well im sorry that you dont want to hear that its growing pains but thats the bone that does the growing in children. See a doctor and let them explain it. If its not growing pains then let them diagnosis it.

3. Flat feet causes such problems. I could help her correct her condition; she'd just need to do various exercises for a short period of time. If interested, email me k.sordo@gmail.com (it's free!) If her feet are left untreated, it will only worsen her problems and lead to others as she gets older.
