I'm having knee pain at rest, even lying down?

I'm 45 years old and usually fairly active. I am overweight by about 30 lbs but am losing. I have been less active than usual due to recent minor surgery on my back. I have some osteoarthritis and been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (don't agree with diagnosis). But this pain is at rest, even, as I said, while lying down. It also hurts and is stiff with prolonges sitting. No pain on activity.

1. sorry to say but it is your fibromyalgia. i have fibro 18/18 trigger points. i have the same thing as you. You should increase the protein in your diet. it helps with fibro. protein helps to restore your muscles which fibro is affecting.

2. if its only in your knee--you may be right that it is NOT fibromyalgia--

fibro is widespread pain in all 4 quadrants of tehbody-upper, lower, right, left--front, back

fibro doesn't actually affect your muscles--if affects the way the nervous system interprets and responds to the muscles (receiving/sending pain signals)-

strengthening your muscles may help somewhat as they might not be as easily affected--but the underlying condition will not change
