5. headaches are very common during pregnancy, i suffered from them my whole first trimester and a little bit into my 2nd. However it can be a cause for concern and a possible sign of high blood pressure but it depepnds on the headache, is it lasting for hours or does it come and go? the frequent monthly dr visits help in diagnosing high blood pressure fast so i wouldnt worry too much its probably another joy of being pregnant but maybe you should call your doctor for peace of mind.
6. Hiya,
Yes I had terrible headache in presgnancy...can often be due to hormones....Get your B/P checked though, just to be on the safe side....keep an eye on any other symptoms too...such as visual disturbances, oedema etc
Hope this helps
7. Headaches during pregnancy is caused by the increase of blood your body has to pump. I have low blood pressure and get headaches, Its just like when you get a headache when your not pregnant but you can only take panadol. Nothing to strong. If you have a lot of headaches then you should see your doctor as the GP may be able to recommend something for you to take to decrease the amount of headaches. Best wishes, and good luck.
8. no. Headaches in pregnancy are usually just a sign of pregancy. It's most likely all those hormeones at it again. I am at 28 weeks myself. Tylenol is ok to take durign pregnancy and you can also try relaxing in a darkened room with a cool towel on your forehead for about 20 minutes. Of course you shoulod alway mention this to your Dr just to make sure. Congrats on your little one!
There is a great book called "What to expect when you're expecting" you can check it out online and in any book store. It's the pregancy bible. The author also has a whole series for after baby is born through the first years. Good luck!
9. Not usually. Headaches are very common in pregnancy. Could be just stress. Even in a happy pregnancy, your body and mind still go through emotional & physical changes.
Make sure that you're drinking plenty of water. Water intake is essential in pregnancy. Sometimes if you run a little dehydrated, you will get headaches. Also, make sure that you're snacking healthy every few hours. When your blood sugar runs a little low, you can also get a headache. If you get bad headaches like migraines - try tylenol. Excedrin isn't recommended for use in pregnancy - I just use tylenol, a big glass of water, and a chocolate bar for migraines. (Excedrin is basically tylenol with caffeine anyways) Naps are good too.
10. I got headaches during my pregnancy and my doctor said it was just one of the changes your body goes through. Hormones and all. I wouldn't be too too worried about it. I know how it feels though they can be quite painful. My doctor prescribed a medication for them because tylenol doesn't even put a dent in them. Mine were more migraine like. Ask your doc about it.
11. YES IT CAN BE. They are usually down to fluctuating hormones BUT if they go on constantly ofr longer than 2 days, they can be a sign of high blood pressure. If this happens go get checked out! Good luck
12. It can be a sign of high blood pressure. I had headaches, if I had 3 bad ones in a week the doctor would have me come in for a blood pressure test. Luckily for me it was just bad headaches, but there was real concern that it could be high blood pressure.
