headache during early pregnancy?

can someone describe to me the headache you feel during early pregnancy. My period is 11 days late and I'm having a terrible headache for past 2 days. I also feel so groggy and lightheaded. How would you describe the headache?

thanks

1. I am 5 weeks pregnant at the moment and yesterday for the first i had a headache, but it was a sharp pain on one side on my head for a few minutes then it went away - i work in an office and was at the computer all afternoon so that could have been the reason why. i also felt groggy from 3 weeks pregnant and tierd all the time like sleep was never enough. Hope you get the result you want

2. It's a little late for that excuse.

3. I went to hospital last night for a headache which has lasted nearly 2 weeks. (16 weeks pregnant) My headache is at the front of my head on either side and feels very tight. It can really throb when i stand up or move too quickly. The doc couldn't find any obvious probs and after speaking with mother in law (she is optician) it may be my eyes. Your eyes can change shape during pregnancy and vision can be up the spout. Very early preg headaches however, are probably due to the massive rush of hormones being produced in your body. May be worth taking an early preg test just to be sure. If it isn't pregnancy then you can look at what else it may be. All the best. xx

4. I had horrendous headaches until I was about 18 weeks or so... felt sort of like someone had an elastic band around my head and kept tightening it until it felt like my head would explode. Or, I would get spots in front of my eyes, and sore strained eyes. Some pregnancy headaches are hormonal, some are from vision changes during pregnancy.
Groggy... if you are pregnant, groggy doesn't go away until... well, the baby is like 5 yrs old! LOL sorry!
Ask your doctor about it, and get a preg test to confirm pregnancy...

5. Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at
