There are kinds of vanilla lotion that give me an intense headache when I smell it. What causes this?

I'll be in class or just walking around and ill smell a vanilla lotion someone is wearing. This gives me an intense headache and make me feel a little sick to my stomach. This happend the other day during a lecture and i had to get up and leave because i felt so bad. what is causing this?
