What causes a small headache when I take a sip of alcohol?

So far, I've taken two small sips of alcohol since this year as it's getting closer to my 21st birthday and each time I do, at the first sip I get a small tingle of a headache.

I'm wondering if it's because I'm not used to alcohol or perhaps something else I need to consider before making it something I do in the future.

1. just dont drink
that junk is crud

2. It sounds like you might have an allergy to alcohol. My dad had this allergy for several years before he was able to take alcohol again.

3. your head

4. you're just not used to alcohol yet. you haven't built up any tolerance yet. Dont rush yourself though. Gradually work your way up.

5. Don't drink. Prob. solved

6. alcohol is poison, and its your bodie's way of letting you know that

7. 20 and i do not drink. It is dehydration or low blood sugar.

8. THis is just a natural reaction that your body has to alcohol. Everybody's bodys react differently, this is just how yours reacts to a foreign substnace. I wouldn't suggest drinking much alcohol later, as you are sure to get major hangovers, etc

9. Your body probably isn't used to the alcohol. I don't recommend drinking more because it may make you even more sick. You could be the type who just cant handle the alcohol.

10. It shrinks your brain cells.

11. alcohol

12. It sounds like you have an allergy towards alcohol. I have an allergy towards malted drinks which keeps me away from beer and other drinks with malt in it. If I were you I would go to a doctor before drinking because if you tried to drink a lot then theres a chance you could have a very bad reaction. Much worse than just a simple headache.

13. Hmm...I'm not gonna get all scientific and say that this is a chemical reaction, but it seems that it's just that your body isn't used to alcohol and just can't tolerate it. It's just like people who are lactose intolerant; they can't stand milk. You're alcohol intolerant. Your body just can't take it. It would be a good choice if you'd just stop drinking or sipping that nasty stuff. Alcohol ruins your liver.

14. We all have a angel and a devil that sits on our shoulders. The headache is coming from the angel slapping you up side the head.

15. it's caused "sulfite" especially in white wine

16. you are poisoning your body and that's how it reacts.

17. tannins in wine can cause headaches. It's an additive that winemakers put in to help with the fermentation process or some such. Wine that is from Europe isn't supposed to have tannins in it. Maybe that's it. You could also be sensitive/allergic to alcohol. There is alcohol in mouthwash, cough syrups, and an assortment of baking goods, do these give you headaches as well?
