knee pain from running. Do you think I need a knee brace to keep running?

I wore wrong shoes when running and kept twisting my knee around and now theres a sharp pain on the side of my right knee and when I walk my knee like gives way. It jerks foward when I put weight on it and then it kind of shakes under pressure. Do I need a knee brace? Because it hurts really bad to run now but I have to keep running for sports.

1. Rest, and ice and then get back training after about a week and if it is the same then go to the doctors or a physiotherpist

2. no you don't need a brace, my knee did the same thing when i was running cross country. just take the walking and running slowly. it may hurt a little bit when you go slow but it will exercise the knee and although it may sound weird but if you just lay down and let your knee do nothing it will be awkward when you start running again, so keep your knee active and it will be healed soon.

3. I had a problem with my knee this year, too. It might not be the same thing as yours, but I didn't get a brace. I took pain reliever, iced, and took practice slower and a little easier. Don't overdo it in practice, or you might make it worst. Take an ice bath, too, if you can. They are painful for the first 3 minutes, but after that you go numb and it feels better. Good luck! :)

4. Yea it sounds like you do. Here is some helpful info.
