In an obese person, what does frequent knee pain usually signify?

I ask this because I am obese myself and frequently have pain in my right knee. Since someone will most likely ask for my height and weight, I am 6'1" and 330 pounds.
I forgot to mention that I am 21.

1. It's stress on the joint due to the extra weight.

2. This is a first symptom to worse things, I would say. That is clearly the problem. Read the crappy fitness magazines about people with similar conditions, they always say that after getting in shape, this is one of the things that goes away. Good luck!

3. I'm about the same, and have a few aches
you don't say your age, but could be arthritis.
I get a pain in my hip joint if I walk a lot

4. Well being my hubby was obese he was 6'1 and weight 325lbs. He also had a lot of problems . The best advise i can give you is lose weight because of the excess weight you are carrying around everyday that's what causes your knee pain...Plus obesity also causes diabetes i know .My hubby was in the hospital for 1 week because his sugar was above 700 and the doctors couldn't believe he was still alive..Good luck and God Bless..

5. Yes, your knee is complaining about carrying the weight every day.

6. Your knee pain may be due to your weight but it may not be. You should have an orthopedic doctor examine your knees with X-rays and MRIs. You should also check as to whether leg exercises will help strengthen your knees. As I have gained my weight (I went from 220 to 620) I have kept up strength exercises to handle the weight and have not had any issues. Good luck.
