1. Tylenol sinus and maybe a warm washcloth
2. I find an ice bag insulated with a small towel helpful :)
3. Give him an allergy pill or a decongestant. It will help dry out the sinuses and relieve the pressure.
Hope this helps!
4. go buy him some excedrin.
5. get him to try these acupressure points for some relief. on either side of his nostrils press firmly and hold there. he can also massage in little circles in that area. right under his eyebrow bone (where the eyebrow starts, closest to the eyes) is another point for relieving pain in the eyes (sinus pain)press in that area using your thumbs . (in fact the entire eyebrow bone and area can be massages or 'pressed' using the thumbs or any strong fingers. also..right in the middle of the cheeks using your knuckle do little circular movements..
6. Wyman. Why don't you type in Shiatsu on the net? Shiatsu is Acupressure and there are some very good pressure points on the face to aid Sinus sufferers.I use them and they are far better than nasal inhalers. There is a medication I have used called Flixonase which is good. Also if your Dad is brave enough, he can salt water snuffle. This is where you sniff up salt water in a saucer, up the nostril. This requires warm water,a teaspoon of salt. Sniffing up the salty water through one nostril at a time, is a very old cure for Sinus. It gets rid of all the gunk up the nose. Good Luck!
