There are ad's for back pain relief using hypo-baric style (decompression remedies seen on TV and newspapers.

If they work so well (which they possibly do) why would the hospitals and clinics not use them for curing and/or pain relief.
p.s. By the way these treatments are not cheap.

some conditions in hospitals for back pain are so bad that the hypo-baric back pain relief are not strong enough. After the hospitals have helped they are advised to use the hypo - baric back pain relief.
