Looking for natural back pain relief?

I have been looking for a natural treatment for my lower back pain. The pain is sometimes unbearable, but at others it only aches. I have been doing yoga and pilates, but I still have back pain. The chiropractor helps, but it hurts so much to get an adjustment that i don't know which is worse. Any suggestions? I'd like to be free of the $75 that the chiropractor charges.

2. -If your Chiropractor hurts that much, you may want to look for one that uses a different technique like an "activator" (a little hand-held device that can focus on 1 joint instead of a larger area that a hand covers). It could also be due to a medical condition (like Fibromyalgia or arthritis, as a couple examples)... if you have a Chiropractor, they should be willing to learn alternative ways to treat you with your pain/sensitivity.
-You could try acupuncture or acupressure... a number of people get relief from those.
-There are also several supplements you could try to give your body nutrients it may be lacking to help it heal your back. The most popular are Microlactin, Tart Cherries, Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, Hyaluronic Acid, Litozin (Danish Rose Hips), and Bromelain.

Ultimately, your best bet would be to find a doctor or chiropractor that can narrow down exactly why your back is still hurting so much... if you can eliminate the cause of the problem, you eliminate the symptoms. Good luck!

3. I found this great resource for back pain treatment, including stuff for lower back pain. This healer wrote a book on how to do chiropractic adjustments on yourself, but without cracking! It's really cool, I had problems with my neck, and now I can just adjust it even if I am waiting at a light or something. The back adjustments are a little more, but I helped my girlfriend a couple of days ago, and she's fine now. We just followed the instructions and looked at the photos to see how to do it.

It turned out that my neck problem was because I ate too much sugar, believe it or not. Taht's in the book too. You can download it, and it's cheaper than a chiropractic visit.

4. I d/k weather you've ever had any trauma to your back. Assuming from your handle you're a woman...I d/k how old you are...It may/might be Osteo Perosis...have your self checked for bone density to see if it's a cause of your back pain. There is a device called the Pro Adjuster...look for a Chiropractor that utilizes it. Massage therapy...trigger point may also help...Finally I suggest acupuncture...GOOD LUCK & I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER SOON!

5. ummm you should go to massage therapy. that helped for me

6. 1] maintain/regain normal weight
2] stretching exercises for the back - [ google it ]
3] be sure the yoga you are doing is for people with back problems - there are many different types of yoga
4] seek out a chiropractor with a PRO Adjuster [ google it, and add city or county where you live ]. Does 'gentle' manipulation of spinal joints, that works as well or better than the 'painful' kind.
5] take Glucosamine supplements, and fish oil supplements

7. Pilates can be a little rough on the back while certain yoga poses can help. Find a good traditional instructor or research back pain poses on the internet if you practice at home.
spend that $75 on a good massage therapist or acupuncturist...

8. Ok I have suffered from back pain since I was 18 years old and I am now almost 39. I have tried almost everything from Chiropractors, Accupuncture, Accupressure, Physical Therapy, drugs, and everything in between.

The one and only thing that put my severe back pain to rest for a quite a few years was when I was doing stomach crunches in my Martial Arts. I had the tightest stomach around and once you strengthen your core muscles the pain the back goes away. I know it sounds so simple, but you really have to do the stomach crunches the proper way or you will make your tummy permantely pooch instead of flat and building the muscles up tight. I was doing over 500 a day everyday.

I remember when I got pregnant with my Daughter shortly after I had to quit my Martial Arts and my OB said in all her years she has never seen anyone with that tight of abs.

I didn't have any more back problems until I stopped doing my exercises. Now I am slowly trying to build up those muscles again and I have less days of pain and it will continue over time.

In the meantime try Stop Pain Relief, hot showers, icing your back down, gentle stretching, watching your posture, a back support for sitting, walking.

9. See a chiropractor certified in Cox Distraction Technique.

10. try some ginseng tea. i have read that ginseng tea can help with back pain, hair loss ,headaches, hypertension or high blood pressure.
