What is a cure for bad nerve root pain in the leg (please name something else besides pt exercises,?

antiinflammatories or pain pills)? The exercises and pills haven't worked so far. Why does it take so long for a doctor to realize an epidural or cortizone shot may be the answer? When I've told the doctor how excruciating and unbearable the pain is????

1. try acupuncture

2. I have a similar problem and my dr recommended the epidural shot right away. I wanted to try more traditional things before doing the shot, and we are trying NSAID and PT now, which is not working.

If your insurance permits, try to find a physical medicine dr (Physiatrist) that is specialized in spine disorders.

By the way, a few friends suggested bed rest, which is not a option for me at the moment.

Good luck.
