What are some good exercises to prevent lower back pain?

Public Comments

1. Walking and more walking. Try to not gain weight as this causes more problems. I have three disk problems that are inoperable, but I just keep walking and squat instead of bending over.

2. you can do an isometric exercise while sitting in front of the computer. The lower back muscles are antagonists to the stomach muscles and vice versa. When one is flexing the other is relaxing. In the sitting position flex your stomach muscles and hold them, do 10, 15 reps of this- holding for 5 to 10 seconds, remember to breath. When you flex your stomach muscles, it allows your lower back muscles to relax. simply sucking in your gutt whenever you think about it can help loosen up those tight back muscles. Then get up and touch your toes or as close as you can get, this will stretch hamstrings, gastroc and back muscles. Thats an easy one for you.
