What are some natural remedies for fibromyalgia symptoms? I am 23 years old and I have been diagnosed by a rheumatologist with fibromyalgia. The drugs he prescribed are helping, but I still have pain in all of my muscles. My other symptoms include muscle weakness, difficulty sleeping, fatigue, dizziness, and IBS with constipation. The constipation is even worse with the meds.
Any good suggestions on how to relieve fibromyalgia symptoms? Every morning I feel like I have been run over by a truck. Sometimes if I take tylenol or something before bed, I feel a little better in the mornings, but most of the time I still hurt pretty bad. My husband says its all in my head. Do I need some kind of mental medicine or a pain reliever?

What are most common symptoms of Fibromyalgia. Do you or someone you know have Fibromyalgia? I have Mild Cerebral Palsy, affecting only my legs. I am 30, after my daughter was born 5 yrs ago, I had a lot of problems with my legs & back again. I am on disability now. I have always had problems with my legs, I limp, they hurt. Now I am weak , having problems walking long distances (the mall wears me out!). I have started dragging my feet again a lot. I had cortisone & steroid injections today, Dr seemed worried about me dragging my feet. He its too easy to blame everything on Cerebral Palsy. I read a little on Fibromyalgia. My Fiance & I believe I have a lot of those symptons! Thank you, Sandra
What have been YOUR symptoms of Fibromyalgia? ...assuming your either have this disorder or know someone who does... I have had "it" for 14 yrs and am surprised to find that it has been a very painful plus physical and progressively declining illness. I just would like to get more info from other sufferers...not necessarily from web sites, but from first-hand experiences and trials. Am considering writing a book about this from the perspective of the person and not just the medical community. Thank you for your input. Write as much as you want...I will read it, I promise.
Do you want relief from severe Fibromyalgia symptoms? I've found a great modality for Fibro after suffering for 11 yrs!! This is not an ad, scam or anything like it. I just want to tell the world (especially those suffering with Fibro) about a new treatment I've had that ACTUALLY HELPS SEVERE FIBRO SYMPTOMS!!!!!!! It's called "Cold Laser" treatments. It's not available everywhere but has originated in Texas. I'm in Colorado and have been going for treatments the last 3 months.
Suggestions To Manage Symptoms of Fibromyalgia? I have had a string of health problems over the last year and have been to see 5-6 different doctors to try to obtain a diagnosis. After extensive blood tests, x-rays and evaluations, I have been told that no one knows exactly what is causing my various aches and pains and more than likely I have fibromyalgia. This diagnosis does not account for the eye inflammation, chronic and severe sinusitus or fluctuations in my SED rate among other things. However, it is the only "diagnosis" that has been offered to explain the chronic pain in my arms. Since this is all I have to go on, I was hoping someone might have suggestions on how I might be able to manage the symptoms of my "fibromyalgia". I have been told to exercise more. Does anyone know of any other dietary/lifestyle changes that might potentially benefit someone with this condition? I'm also open to suggestion on how to obtain a real, conclusive diagnosis over a catch-all one given because no one is sure what's wrong with me.
I have Fibromyalgia symptoms-have not had the symptoms for 3 months. I could still have the disease, right? According to what I have read out on the internet, I have many Fibromyalgia symptoms. A woman out here (who otherwise gave a very intelligent answer to a question that I asked) told me that she didn't think that I have Fibromyalgia because you have to have had symptoms for 3 months in order to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. All that means is that (for me) it hasn't yet been 3 months! I would rather have Fibromyalgia than to be dying of or afflicted with some other aweful disease (like Cancer or MS), but don't want to have Fibromyalgia. I want my life to go back to the way it was before this injury/illnes/whatever struck me down. The pain started in my right hamstring muscle (2 months ago), but the pain soon spread to my whole leg-foot and butt-then to the other whole leg and foot. The pain has not gotten any better. It has stayed the same or gotten worse. From what I have read, I have a lot of tests and blood-work to look forward to, right?-tests to rule out whether I have a different disease with symptoms similiar to Fibromyalgia symptoms. I just NEED to know what is wrong with me-before I lose what little sanity I have left. After seeing 2 doctors on two different occasions-I'm not any closer to the truth! (It puts me in terrible pain to sit and type different questions out here for very long, but Y/A people have helped me tremendously-even via email-so I endure the pain.)
Fibromyalgia sufferers.. ok are you on any special diets to control the symptoms of your Fibromyalgia? below..? Like recipes, foods to eat, foods to eliminate, everything I need to know cause all I do is sleep, sleep, and sleep. Also of course I get headaches and pain al the time. But I found out that certain foods can trigger your fibromyalgia symptoms like sugar, gluten, fatty foods, butter, ect. I am having such a hard time eating the right foods and staying on track it is so hard to stick with it and eat better for myself so I don't have to feel like a slug all the time. I hate it so much. So any good advice would be helpful thanks.
Does anyone take Endep 10 for fibromyalgia or similiar symptoms and if so does it help? I wake every morning with body stiffness and pain. I am not sleeping well at all waking many times every night and during the day the body aches and pains often stay with me all day. sometimes it will be my lower back that gives me grief and other times it will be my neck and shoulders and upper back. at night my ankles ache. i am lethargic and constantly tired and get lots of headaches. I have just been to the doctor and she sent me for blood tests for an array of things like Rheumatoid arthritis. thyroid and so on. I really would be surprised if the tests came back anything other than normal. The doctor has given me Endep 10 a low dose of anti depressants to help me sleep for the next week until i get the test results back. i was just wanting to know if anyone else suffers from these symptoms and what they do to help or who they found could help.
I have a bunch of symptoms for a mental condition. My friend says it might be fibromyalgia, thoughts? My mental symptoms include: grandosity depression alogia cognitive overload rage affective flattening disorganized speech/mumbling paranoia need to keep moving (can't sit still) able to get high/hyper off of very little stimulus eccentricity Physical symptoms: pain in muscles and joints (arthritis-like) locking elbows, and jaw on occasion narrow pupils, causing darker vision decreased sensibility to pain hearing voices, on five seperate occasions i'm not sure what this could be, anyone have any ideas?
Anyone with fibromyalgia... How do you ease your symptoms? Let's share information and help each other: I find that limiting my sugar intake helps overall, and when I'm having a flare up I take a hot bath and stay as warm as possible. I also have my husband push down on the pressure points that are especially sore, but massaging them hurts. What do you do to ease the pain? Anyone else have flare ups with weather pressure changes?
does medical marijauna help with some of the symptoms from fibromyalgia? i also wanted to add that this question mainly pertains to people who have experienced or know well the extremity of fibromyalgia and/ or anyone who know first hand about marijauna and it's effects in general. so if you do not know what marijauna really does because you have never experimented and/or you do not and could not know the impact fibromyalgia has on millions of people everyday then please do not waste your time answering, as i will not take in what you have to say. Oh, and if you do not believe fibromyalgia exists then go out meet someone who has and has it bad, then i'd like for you to tell me what your opinion is about it after. thank you for the considerate responses i have gotten. it is much appreciated, since the only reason why i brought this up is because of the scare about addictive painkillers that are prescribed daily by the millions for this disease and also kill more people than marijauna ever would!
What are the symptoms of hypothyroidism? Fibromyalgia? I have had endocrinologists and primary care physicians prescribe thyroid medication. (Synthroid, Armour Thyroid) It has helped reduce some of the complaints in the past. Then, when I moved to a new state, my new MD. did not always think I needed the medication. I finally just gave up on seeking help at all. But, after many years, I find that my quality of life is quite poor, and I desperately need to find what is wrong with me. Does anyone know if fibromyalgia can be linked to hypothyroidism? I suffer terribly from symptoms of fibromyalgia and have VERY little energy. If you have any personal experience with this situation, or know someone who has, please tell me about it! Also, if there are any doctors out there right now, please respond. I am so very, very tired of going to doctors, only to find that they didn't seem to listen to me. Either that, or they just didn't know what to do for me. Whatever..... I have had no relief for years. During that time all I pretty much feel like doing is laying in bed. I just MAKE myself function, but it is extremely difficult! HELP!!!
Which vitamins help alleviate symptoms of fibromyalgia? A relative of mine has been diagnosed with "fibro" and even though she's receiving medical treatment she still has problems with tiredness and achiness. I'm a big believer in natural remedies and would like advice about this. Thanks.
I have a question about Fibromyalgia and if my symptoms are part of it.? I have allot of cramping in both ankles, behind my knees, and as well as an occaisional cramp in the wrist and palms. Are these part of the symptoms of this condition? If so should I go and seek medical advice? I have been hydrating myself with allot of fluids but that is not the problem, the problem now is the cramping that comes 2-5 times a day now.
Anyone have any otc treatments for fibromyalgia symptoms? I have leg cramps, abdominal spasms and pain, shoulder muscle pain, low back ache, and jaw pain. All of these are supposedly associated with fibromyalgia symptoms, along with many others. Has anyone out there found any alternative or otc treatments to help? The prescription Lyrica and Cymbalta didn't help, nor did acupuncture. So those would have to be left off my choices. I am at my wits end, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thought I would add also that there aren't really any knowledgeable doctors in my area regarding fibromyalgia and I can't afford massages as they're not covered by my insurance otherwise I would use them for the back muscle cramps. I haven't chosen any one answer as best because no one's come up with anything I haven't already tried, other than the foot pads.
Im wondering if I have symptoms of Fibromyalgia.....? I have looked it up already, but there are so many different symptoms that COULD be caused from the condition. What symptoms are most prominent and how serious is it? Any information that could be shared would be helpful.
Can fibromyalgia symptoms result from a trauma to the leg/foot? I was injured approx. 1 1/2 yrs ago. Drs. haven't found a concrete answer to the continuing pain in my foot/leg/knee. One surgery addressed one issue but as time goes on the pain has not improved. Physical therapy didn't help and only seemed to cause additional foot pain and burning sensation in my leg and foot. There is no sign of arthritis anywhere.
Fibromyalgia symptoms and treatments? I havent been diagnosed with fibromylagia yet, and am half afraid to tell my doctor thats what I think I have. Shell probably tell me im nuts, plus I read that theres no real test to say...Yes you have it. But after accidentally stumbling across an ad for Lyrica, and it listed some symptoms of fibromyalgia, I thought to do some research on the subject. Ive been back and fourth to the doctor...goodness like 15 times in the last 2 years! Initially just complaining about extreme fatigue, troubles falling asleep, and not being able to stay asleep once I fell asleep. Then it stemmed into joint pain complaints. I did find out I had lyme disease, so my doctor thought thats what the problem was. Well I took the meds, got re tested and the lyme is cured. This is over a year ago now...but my symptoms are worse. Been back again a few times since then, and she just said theres nothing wrong with me, im just depressed. She tried giving me sleeping pills, which just made me more groggy so I stopped taking them. Then she gave me some off brand stress management med... not quite a depression med, which didnt help. After doing reaserch on fibromyalgia, im SURE thats what I have. Besides the extreme tiredness, and lack of ability to stay asleep, I have horrible muscle and joint aches. I wake up and feel like ive excersised for hours the day before! Im stiff and find it painful to move. What really got me though, is I have pain in all the places ive read online that affect people with fibromyalgia the most. The neck, hips, shoulders, and knees. Thats where most of my pain is. I have frequent headaches, and the other thing that really sold me was the IBS thats linnked with fibromylagia. Ive always had bad cramps and gas like I have to go to the bathroom realllly bad even when I dont have to go, and my bowel movements have always been strange, going alot some days, not going for a day or two at other times. Ive always wondered why until I read about IBS. I know fibromyalgia can mimic lupus and other conditions, but my doctor did test me for lupus and a few others and they were all negative. I also read that fibromyalgia can come about after very traumatic times, and it seems like mine started about 2 1/2 years ago. And ALOT has happened to me in that time. My sister was murdered 3 years ago, my mom died 2 years ago, my brother had a cancer scare shortly after our mom died. So thats another reason I suspect fibromyalgia. So does it really sound like I have fibromyalgia? And what can I do to help it? I cant live with this tiredness anymore! I dont even care about the pain as much as I do about constantly being tired and fatigued!
I fit the Fibromyalgia symptoms perfectly, now what? I suffered with unexplained aches and pains for the past 14 years, since I was 7 years old! It wasn't until the past couple of months it has started to progress more and even more the past 2 weeks to the point that I couldn't take it anymore. So I researched my symptoms and kept coming across Fibromyalgia. I live in Eastern NC and am seeking medical attention asap. I have no health insurance and don't know what to do or where to start or how. Any advice, stories, or anything to either help me not feel so alone or help me medically?
Fibromyalgia symptoms - Only left side of body? i've been looking up symptoms for years and the closest match I find is fibromyalgia...However, the Fibromyalgia diagnosis says it HAS to be on all four quadrants of your body. I have pain in every trigger point on the left side of my body. Is it the beginning of Fibromyalgia and eventually will go to the other side? Or is there another condition that can have the same symptoms? thx

Which of your Fibromyalgia symptoms bothers you the most? I have Fibro, "advanced form of Osteoarthritis" (whatever that means), migraines, and psoriasis. I had to have a spinal fusion last summer. I'm accustomed to pain, but the complete and total exhaustion....I just can't stand it!!!! Seems I can't get anything done anymore. Even a shower and I feel like I need a nap. What is your biggest complaint?
Fibromyalgia symptoms in children? ok so my mum has fibro and has had it for 10 years now. She copes well but is in ALOT of pain. So i decided to look on the internet on things that couldhelp her other than medication cause i worry about her alot and i saw a wesite that said that fibromyalgia could be gentetic. Is this true? It said tjhat it sould be passed on from mother to daughter and such. So i looked up the symptoms in children ( i am 13) and it said that they normally occur in puberty (11-15). They said children who have trouble sleeping on a regular basis (i have this trouble) are more likely to get it.And children who have a parent who suffers from this disease are most likely to get it. Also about 2 months ago i had a bad pain in which i thought was growing pains that lasted for a week. I really hope that i do not get it. Is it possible that i could inherit it from my mother. ( her symptoms came on at 18 and her fibromyalgia was not diagnosed until she was 33, when i was born) Im not too worried about it. Also i am worried about my mum. Will she be ok when she is older. She has extremely high blood pressure and is overweight cause she is on 3 tablets that make her put on weight. Thanx alot sorry if it is long i just think that i need some advice right now. And please do not be mean im only 13 PS: no one else in my famiy has it
